FAQ

The product
What does Patty actually do?

Patty is the AI operator you run the restaurant with — not a dashboard you check next to it. She reconciles every invoice, ticket and shift overnight and hands each location a short list of opportunities ranked by dollars. She comes with the platform where the work happens: a live P&L, prime cost and sales analytics, a costed recipe and SKU library, and the daily tools — order guides, inventory counts, waste logs, transfers — your stores already need somewhere to do.

Who is Patty?

Patty is built by Pathway to work alongside your GMs rather than replace them. She has your recipes, SKUs, vendors, sales and labor in context, plus externals like weather and local events. You can chat with her like you would with your sharpest analyst, and she works proactively in the background — weekly performance briefs and one-off findings arrive by email or text without anyone asking.

Who is Patty for?

Any restaurant group that wants to stop leaking money. Every restaurant is losing margin somewhere — an invoice priced wrong, a recipe that drifted, a shift that ran long, a dish underpriced on delivery. Patty finds those leaks every night and tells you which one to plug first. If that is worth something to you, it does not matter whether you run two locations or twenty.

The platform
What do my stores use day to day?

The operations side: the order guide tells each location what to order before the rep calls, inventory counts take minutes because the count sheet mirrors the shelf, waste gets logged where it happens, and transfers between stores are recorded once and priced automatically. None of it requires the analytics side — a shift lead can live entirely in these tools.

Where do my numbers live?

In one place, reconciled. Dashboards cover sales, labor, COGS and prime cost, theoretical versus actual food cost, and a full P&L you can read by week or by period. Every figure opens to the invoices and tickets behind it, so the argument about whose spreadsheet is right stops happening.

Do I have to move everything to Patty?

No. Patty has everything you need, but she connects to whatever you already run — your POS, your scheduler, your invoice inbox stay exactly where they are. Most groups start with the numbers and one or two tools, then retire the old spreadsheets and systems on their own schedule, once Patty has earned it. Nothing gets ripped out on day one; nothing has to stay forever.

What about DoorDash, Uber Eats and menu pricing?

Delivery is part of your P&L, not a blind spot. Patty breaks sales out by channel, carries platform commissions as their own line in the statement, and costs every menu item against what its ingredients cost you this week — so you can see which dishes earn their keep in the dining room but lose money at a thirty percent take rate. When a margin slips, Patty names the item and what the price needs to be, on your third-party menus as well as in-store.

How does recipe costing work?

Our team builds your recipe and SKU library during onboarding — every dish, batch recipe and ingredient, mapped to the distributor items you actually buy. From then on each invoice updates your costs automatically: when chicken jumps, every recipe that touches chicken reprices the same night, and Patty tells you which menu items just stopped earning their keep.

Integrations and data
Which POS systems do you support?

Toast, Square and Otter today. If you run something else, tell us on the intro call — adding a system typically takes a few weeks and we have done it on request before.

How do invoices get in?

Forward the emailed PDFs, or photograph the paper ones. Patty reads both, line by line, and matches them to your recipes and SKUs. A good share of our groups start entirely on paper.

What access does Patty need?

Read-only connections to your POS, your invoice inbox and your scheduler. No new hardware, and no change to how your stores ring in.

Is my data shared with other restaurants?

No. Each group runs in an isolated environment. Nothing you upload trains a shared model, and we never benchmark you against a named competitor.

The big one

Do I need another restaurant management system?

No. Your full recipe book and SKU catalog, invoices matched line by line, order guides, inventory counts, waste logs, transfers, a live P&L — it is all in here. Pathway is the management system your team opens.
